Free checklist
Title 24 permit submittal checklist.
Use this before permit assembly to catch the project details that usually drive California Title 24 questions, HERS coordination, and late corrections.
Pre-permit review
What to gather before the Title 24 report starts.
The package does not need to be perfect. It needs to be clear enough to identify the compliance path before assumptions harden.
-
Project basics
City/jurisdiction, address or APN, occupancy, project type, and target permit timing.
-
Plan set
Floor plans, elevations, sections, roof plan, and any current architectural sheets.
-
Envelope assumptions
Wall/roof/floor assemblies, insulation values, glazing area, window/door schedules, and orientation.
-
Mechanical scope
HVAC equipment type, efficiency, duct location, ventilation approach, and any known substitutions.
-
Water heating
Water heater type, distribution assumptions, recirculation details, and fixture notes if available.
-
Solar/battery notes
PV, battery, exception, or existing-condition details that may affect the compliance path.
-
Field verification
Likely HERS measures, installer/testing coordination, and closeout documents needed later.
-
Open questions
Any plan-check comments, late equipment changes, unusual glazing, additions/remodel constraints, or city concerns.
